It has been 5 months since they first met at the football match. Paras now is always looking for a chance to go to computer department which is on top floor of main building. One of his friend Rahul asked him about his increased computer department trips to which he answered If he had not been in mechanical he had put computers as his department and he is just fulfilling his wish to be near computer department this way. That surely doesn’t answer the purpose of trips but surely avoids follow up questions.
Now in every break Riya walks down to mechanical department ladies washroom which is on first floor. On being asked by her good friend Shruti about her unusual detour to mechanical department Riya gives a practical reason “that there are too many girls in computer department so the washroom is always full and in mechanical department there are too less girls so I get my own space!”. Riya and Paras both are unaware of each others efforts to see each other for about entire semester their climbing up and down the staircase continues and turns into a wight loss program, both do this just in expectation that that their looks can cross each other sometimes ! somedays ! someways ! They did have lucky encounters but for a brief time on electronics department which was on second floor. In those encounters the time stopped everything moved in slow-mo, their eyes sparkled this made thier day.
The semester is coming to an end and love is starting to grow. A paradoxically beautiful situation. Second year of engineering will end soon. Both become extremely serious about their studies and ward off any thoughts of love at first sight by keeping their sights only on mathematical equations in the book. One by one each exam got over it's the last day of exam and it is an easy paper a theory one not much of mathematics so everyone is chilled out. So Paras in any free time he gets during study he spends it in thoughts of Riya. It's been 6 months now since the football game incidence and only eyes are doing the talking Riya and Paras have not even exchanged numbers. For some reason both did not send each other freind request so that neither sounds too desperate and also a pinch of ego added with it. Paras had decided that he will eventually talk with Riya today after the exam.
After the exam was over, everyone was in party mode. Paras was asked if he was going to come for a party but he said he has a family function so he can't come. Riya didn’t have any plans she would just go home and sleep as she had an habit of studying all night before exam and sleeping for entire day after the exam.
As Riya was walking towards railway station which was about 20 minutes away from college campus Paras walked parallel to her for 5 minutes she didn’t relaize it as there were many other people on the road too. But later she did realize that from a long time one person is following the same pace as her and she looked at her right and there began first conversation.
Paras : I must appreciate your concentration! You were not aware I was trying to follow your pace.
Riya : Oh ! Sorry I …I was just thinking about the exam. I think I didn’t solve last 5 marks question.
Paras : Does that imply you solved 95 marks questions ?
Riya : Yes I solved 95 marks question of which I am sure of getting 93 marks !
Kabir : Mam that is equivalent to my total of 2 exams !
Riya : I am not surprised ! As you tend to sit less in classes and spend more time in traveling between mechanical and computer departments.
Paras : Is there some problem in ladies washroom of computer department ? You mostly come on mech department !
And both stopped in middle of the road as they both relaized what game that was being played by both sides in last semester and there was cute blush on both side by looking away from each other.
Paras asked if he can see her question paper ? Riya passed him the writing pad on which it was tuck. Riya suddenly started explaining all the question and answers to Paras. Paras was confused, she just kept on talking and he was not able to grasp so much information so he gave a “okay ….okay….okay…” after every pause that Riya took while she was talking. Paras was looking at question paper and suddenly he saw a pattern which gave him an amazing idea.
Q l ( roman nuneral) : Two components of device work like wheels in unision….....and then there was a long technical paragraph. It was the question Riya had not solved.
Paras took out his pen from pocket and circled Roman numeral ‘I’ and the word ‘like’ and alphabet ‘u’ fron unision.
Paras gave Riya her question paper and said "I have solved an important question which was troubling from last 6 months"
They had reached the railway station and they both lived in opposite directions so they had to take different trains. Paras's train had come and he said take care see you soon maybe if you are not busy please accept my friend request on Facebook and rushed
Riya looked at the question paper and blushed by interpretation of the circles marked in question one .
